American Kestrel, Yuma

American Kestrels are very
common to abundant winter visitors to the Imperial and Lower
Colorado Valleys. Look for them perched on telephone lines and
poles in agricultural areas south of the Salton Sea and south of
Yuma. In summer, when our winter visitors return north, they
are much less commonly seen, but there are still good numbers
present.
