Black Phoebes are an "everyday" birding encounter in almost all parts of the southwest--at all seasons.  They frequent canals, streams, and ponds, where they catch all manner of insects.  They frequently build their nests under bridges and other structures next to waterways.  Look for them where ever you find water--one of many spots is around Imperial and Laguna Dams.
