Rufous Hummingbirds are common coastal, mountain, and Colorado River
Valley migrants. The spring males are unmistakable in their
bright orange plumage. Immature fall males and females may be
mistaken for Allen's Hummingbirds, which are also fall coastal
migrants. Look for both species in the Rosecrans National
Cemetery at Point Loma in San Diego during late July and early
August.
