This and the following four photos are in-hand close-ups of a female that was flying with a large mixed group at Wister Waterfowl Area on Hwy 111 near Niland, Imperial County, CA.







Spot-winged Gliders range far and wide. They can be seen near water and vegetation
or even over sparse desert.  A good place to watch for them in the Imperial Valley
is over large fields that are being irrigated. Wandering Gliders favor the same types 
of fields so you have to get a good look at them to be sure!
