Chiriaco Summit is a small desert oasis in Riverside, California. It's mainly a travel stop along I-10 between Indio and Blythe, California, about 15 miles northeast of the Salton Sea. Its vegetation and water in the middle of the desert can be a magnet. In particular, a small grassy area and fountain next to the restaurant and another, larger grassy area in the trailer park behind the restaurant have attracted some rare birds.

Chiriaco Summit is about 30 miles east of Indio, CA, and 70 miles west of Bylthe, CA, on Interstate 10. Coming from east or west on I-10, take Exit 173. All of the facilities are on the north side of the interstate.
